Side Events 2026

The Future Starts in Just a Few Days...
Inside the Werk Arena
Czech Army
This year’s programme will be newly enriched by the Czech Army (only first day of the exhibition), which will present selected equipment and technology used both in training and in operational tasks at home and abroad.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore modern military technology up close and meet soldiers who will introduce the technologies used in today’s armed forces.

The main highlight of this exhibition will be the Leopard 2 main battle tank, one of the most advanced armored vehicles used by European armies today. This impressive machine, weighing over 55 tonnes (55,150 kg), offers a unique opportunity to experience cutting-edge military technology from close range.

The Czech Army’s presentation also demonstrates the crucial role that innovation and modern technologies play not only in industry, but also in ensuring safety and protecting human lives.

Secondary Technical School of Třinecké železárny
Secondary Technical School of Třinecké železárny has prepared a Craft Journey for visitors, where you can try out interesting tasks from various fields. You can connect a simple electrical circuit, make a pattern out of copper pipes, make a copper whistle, assemble a gear. You will have the opportunity to manipulate forklift trucks or try your hand at inspecting pipes with the help of a visual camera. In addition, you will see demonstrations of 3D printing in practice and students will present a racing model of a hydrogen-powered RC car.
Mobile biathlon shooting range
Another attractive highlight of the programme will be a mobile biathlon shooting range, which recently gained great attention at the Olympic Festival in České Budějovice. Visitors to INVENT ARENA will have the opportunity to try biathlon shooting themselves and symbolically follow in the footsteps of Czech biathlon successes from recent Winter Olympic Games. Perhaps it is in Třinec where the sporting journey of a future biathlon talent will begin.
Gyroscope
Have a training day as a NASA astronaut! Test your skills, knowledge and courage, which are indispensable when going into space. At the end of the training, you'll take a proper stress test on the gyroscope.
The gyroscope for this event was provided by Elektromont, in cooperation with Dolní oblast Vítkovice.
Jablunkov high school
Come and meet the students of the Jablunkov Secondary School, who will present, among other things:
The FANUC Robotic Cell: an industrial robot that draws and demonstrates various handling techniques.
Arduino and LEGO: we'll show how easy and fun it can be to program the Arduino microcontroller and the LEGO kit.
Hydrogen RC model: the model that was awarded for the best innovation at the 2024 MCR.
Tatra promet eco race
The Tatra Promet Eco Race racing special represents a unique combination of motorsport, engineering development and innovation. Visitors will have the opportunity to see this exceptional vehicle up close, discover the technologies hidden beneath its bodywork, and even enjoy a unique ride in the race car itself. Technology, performance and adrenaline in one place: INVENT ARENA brings together cutting-edge technologies, innovation and a sustainable approach to the future, demonstrating that the world of motorsport can also serve as a platform for developing advanced technological solutions.

VSB - Technical university of Ostrava
Visitors will get a glimpse into the wide world of study and research at the university – from engineering and materials science to artistic foundry work. The StudentCar project will showcase the development of a car from initial concept and design through the work of engineers, materials specialists and 3D printing experts to electronics and servicing. A robotic dog developed by the robotics team will demonstrate that it can not only walk but even perform a somersault. The tabletop Nanospider will produce nanofibres from recycled plastics while also presenting methods of material recycling and the development of polymer nanocomposites. Visitors can also experience the work of a quality manager by assembling wooden tractors, and the programme will be complemented by a unique exhibition of artistic castings created by students of artistic foundry, including bronze and other alloy works.
podoba kovova
The exhibition will include an exhibition of artistic castings and other works by students of the Artistic Foundry Studies programme. Artistic Foundry is a unique study programme and its teaching is provided only at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology of the University of Bohemia and Technology of the Czech Republic. Thanks to the exhibition PoDoba kovOVA you will have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the works of students of this study, not only with the final castings in bronze and other alloys, but also with drawings, paintings and sketches, which are inherently connected with the whole artistic process.
Třinec library
A place where books, technology and people meet. One of the most important cultural and community centres in Třinec will present a diverse selection of its activities and show that the Třinec Library is far more than just a place to borrow books. It is a modern space for learning, discovery and meeting people across generations. Visitors will be able to try board games focused on environmental topics, explore how artificial intelligence can be used in education, immerse themselves in virtual reality, work with programmable robots, or watch 3D printing in action. Třinec Library has long been among the most active and innovative public libraries in the Czech Republic and has received numerous awards for its work. The institution will present itself as a modern centre of knowledge where technology, creativity and lifelong learning come together.

Třinec Business Academy of Information Technology and Public Administration
Discover the world of modern information technology through projects developed by students of the Information Technology programme. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore examples of 3D-printed robotics controlled by MicroBite devices and try basic programming in a hands-on way.You will also learn about technologies based on Arduino, ESP32 and Raspberry Pi platforms and gain insight into robotics and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. The presentation will also feature software projects created by students, including selected graduation projects from both current and previous years. Discover what the technologies of the future look like through the eyes of young innovators.
Boeing flight simulator
Are you fascinated by airplanes? During the exhibition you can take a ride in a Boeing flight simulator. The moving flight simulator supports 3D motion with effects of gliding, braking, uneven terrain, etc. There are many world airports with the possibility of changing weather conditions, season and time. Come and see if you can take off and land safely!
Outside in the areas around WERK ARENA
Integrated Rescue Services Day
The 21st annual IZS Day will take place this year as part of the INVENT ARENA exhibition of innovations and patents in the parking lot of the WERK ARENA. At the event you will find new technology and innovative procedures of the Fire Rescue Service of the Moravian-Silesian Region, the Police of the Czech Republic, the Třinec Municipal Police, the Customs Administration, the Medical Rescue Service and the Fire Department of Třinec Ironworks. The programme will include a static tour of the equipment (e.g. a modern tanker, hawk system, 3D glasses, weapons demonstration, cynology, rope slide), but also dynamic demonstrations (drug search, securing the perpetrator, intervention in a traffic accident),
The IZS components will be present at the event only on 12 June 2024, throughout the day.
Veteran salon
On the occasion of the INVENT ARENA 2024 exhibition, it will also be possible to visit the Veteran Salon, located next to KARIREAL, on 12 June from 10am to 3pm. The oldest jewel in the showroom is a Skoda R4 from 1929. Alongside it will be other Skodas, pre-war Tatra cars, American legends such as Buick, Dodge and a 1958 Cadillac DeVille. Sports enthusiasts will be delighted to see the Škoda 120 S and Škoda 130 RS, with which Jan Trajbold won the Peace Cup in 1979 and 1981. Don't miss the collection of historic motorbikes from Jawa, Čz and Ogar. The most interesting exhibits undoubtedly include the "Oscar" seaplane, which with its unusual construction and appearance will attract every visitor. Take this opportunity to come and admire history on four wheels.
TŘINEC MUSEUM
The Třinec Museum celebrates 55 years of its establishment and on the occasion of the 185th anniversary of the founding of the steelworks, it is organising an exhibition Treasures and Curiosities from the Depository. On display will be several museum treasures that were made in the ironworks or acquired as gifts. In total, you can see 400 ordinary, curious and rare objects that tell the story of the region and map the rich self-help and DIY activities of the workers of the Trinec ironworks in the second half of the last century. The exhibition also includes a creative accompanying programme, a demonstration of raw materials for the production of steel, intermediate products or their own products, or, for example, railway rails.
Hydrogen powered TATRA
The TATRA Force e-Drive, which was first shown to the public in October last year, will also demonstrate how hydrogen fuel cells work. It is a third-generation Tatra Force chassis vehicle with a propulsion system using hydrogen fuel cells. The vehicle is being developed by a five-member consortium led by ÚJV Řež. Other partners in the project are TATRA TRUCKS, Devinn, the University of Chemical Technology in Prague and Centrum.
TATRA 815 4X4 Assistance
The TATRA 815 is renowned for its robust construction and ability to cope with difficult terrain conditions, making it ideal for the role of an assistance vehicle in rallies such as the Dakar. This particular TATRA 815 is a flatbed version, which allows for the transport of a large number of spare parts and tools. The hull normally carries tyres, arms, semi-axles and other parts that are most often needed for repairs during the race. During the exhibition you can see the Tatra and take part in a discussion about the ECO RACE race.
